Our voice, your community, their hope

Welcome to The Local Voice. We’re a nonprofit organization passionately dedicated to uplifting our community in Santee, South Carolina, and its surrounding cities by supporting local women fighting breast cancer and families in need. Discover how every voice — including yours — makes a profound difference.

The power of a shared voice

The Local Voice began in 2024, inspired by the profound impact one voice can have. One of our founders, Dylan Carter—a four-chair turn on The Voice—uses his musical talent to unite our community and raise vital funds. We believe everyone has a 'voice' to contribute, not just musically, but in making our community stronger and more compassionate.

Empowering women in their fight

Our core mission is to stand with local women battling breast cancer. Through our signature The Local Voice Breast Cancer Fundraiser, modeled after "The Voice" and featuring local talent judged by Dylan Carter and other former contestants, we raise crucial funds. Every dollar directly assists these women with essential living expenses, allowing them to focus on healing.

Extending our reach: nourishing our community

Our compassion reaches far beyond breast cancer support. We’re committed to uplifting Santee and its surrounding cities by responding to real, everyday needs. Whether we’re delivering Thanksgiving meals to local families, offering Christmas assistance to those facing hardship, organizing hygiene drives for nursing home residents, or bringing neighbors together through lively community cookouts featuring music by Dylan Carter, our mission remains the same: to build a community that feels supported, connected, and cared for.

"The Local Voice embodies the true spirit of community. Their unwavering support for those fighting breast cancer, combined with their broader initiatives, fills me with hope and inspires me to give back."
